About Dastaan-e-Noor from Afrozeh Dastangoi 2026
Dastaan-e-Noor - the story of light - is the light peach sharara set in the Afrozeh Dastangoi 2026 collection, and one of only two designs here that ships with a sharara rather than a trouser. Where Afsun builds its sharara from twelve embroidered panels, this one takes a different approach: four yards of dyed organza sharara plus four yards of separate inner fabric. That means the volume and the lining are both accounted for in the set, which is unusual and genuinely useful.
Fabric Details
- Shirt - embroidered organza
- Dupatta - embroidered organza
- Sharara - dyed organza, four yards, with four yards of inner
- Colour - light peach
- Type - unstitched three-piece
What Arrives in the Set
Front right and front left panels of 450mm each with two matching patches, a 0.98 metre embroidered back, a 3.96 metre back hem and chak patti run, two embroidered sleeves, and four shoulder patti pieces covering left and right. The dupatta is 1.98 metres with two 450mm pallu sections. The bottom is four yards of dyed organza sharara plus four yards of dyed sharara inner.
The Embroidery
Floral threadwork with shimmering embellishment on light peach organza. The shoulder patti is the detail worth noting - four separate pieces worked for the shoulder line, which is not something every design in this collection includes. It lifts the eye upward and frames the neckline without adding a heavy neckline patch. The rest of the work sits along the back hem and chak, running just under four metres, so the weight of the embroidery is at the shoulders and the hem with a lighter middle.
Stitching and Styling
The sharara here is cut from plain dyed organza rather than pre-panelled, which gives your tailor more freedom than Afsun does - you can decide how much flare to build and where the split falls. The separate inner is intended to sit beneath the sharara, so do not use it as shirt lining; the shirt needs its own lining in peach or ivory crepe. Because the back patti runs 3.96 metres in a single sequence, hem placement is fixed once cut, so confirm the finished length first. The shoulder patti pieces should be placed before the sleeves are attached.
Which Occasion Dastaan-e-Noor Suits
Light peach is a flattering daylight colour across most skin tones, and a sharara silhouette makes it dressier than a straight trouser would. That combination suits a mehndi, a daytime nikah or an engagement particularly well. It also holds up at an evening function that is not overly formal. If you want the same sharara shape in a cooler palette, Afsun in white is the other option.
Care and Storage
- Dry clean only - do not machine wash and do not wring.
- Do not bleach, and dry in shade. Pale peach fades in direct sun.
- Store in a cotton cover - organza snags against rough surfaces and zips.

FAQs
FAQs
Is Dastaan-e-Noor stitched or unstitched?
Unstitched. You receive embroidered organza shirt panels, an organza dupatta, and dyed organza sharara fabric with a separate inner. Aangan does not stitch - your own tailor cuts to your measurements.
What fabric is Dastaan-e-Noor made from?
Shirt, dupatta and sharara are all organza - the shirt and dupatta embroidered, the sharara dyed. The colour is light peach.
What is the sharara inner for?
Four yards of dyed inner fabric are included to sit beneath the sharara. It is not shirt lining - the shirt needs its own lining in peach or ivory crepe.
Can the bottom be stitched as a plain trouser?
Yes. The sharara fabric is supplied as plain dyed yardage rather than pre-cut panels, so your tailor can build a sharara, a gharara or a straight trouser from it.
What is the shoulder patti?
Four embroidered pieces worked for the shoulder line, two per side. They should be placed before the sleeves are attached.
Which occasion does it suit?
Mehndi, daytime nikah and engagement functions especially. The sharara shape makes it dressier than a straight trouser, so it also works at a less formal evening event.
How should it be cared for?
Dry clean only. Do not bleach, do not machine wash, do not wring, and dry in shade - pale peach fades in direct sun.
Is this original Afrozeh?
Yes. Aangan stocks original Afrozeh fabric from the Dastangoi 2026 collection. Fabric composition and piece counts follow the label's own specification.
