Afsun is the white sharara set in the Afrozeh Dastangoi 2026 collection, and the only design where shirt, dupatta and bottom are all cut from the same poly net. That consistency is what makes the silhouette work - a sharara built from a different fabric than the shirt above it tends to read as two separate outfits, and here it does not. Twelve embroidered sharara panels and a near four-metre border are supplied, so the volume is designed in rather than improvised.

What Arrives in the Set

The shirt comes as front centre right and left panels, three hem patti runs of 5.30 metres each covering front and back, two front neckline pieces, ten side panels in set A, two in set B and two in set C, and two embroidered sleeves. The dupatta is 2.60 metres including four side borders. The sharara is supplied as twelve embroidered panels of 450mm each plus a 3.98 metre border. Note that no separate dyed trouser is included with this design - the sharara is the bottom.

The Embroidery

Silver thread on white poly net with shimmering embellishment, and a great deal of it - three separate 5.30 metre hem runs mean the shirt border alone accounts for close to sixteen metres of worked fabric. Fourteen side panels across three sets allow the shirt to be built with graduated fullness rather than a single flare. White on white always depends on texture rather than contrast, so the density of the work is what carries this design.

Stitching and Styling

Sharara construction is more demanding than a straight trouser, so take this set to a tailor who has made one before. The twelve panels join to form the flare and the 3.98 metre border finishes the hem, which means panel width is fixed and the fit has to come from the waist and yoke rather than the leg. Poly net is sheer throughout, so both the shirt and the sharara need lining - white or ivory crepe keeps the tone clean, and a lining that is too warm in tone will grey the white. Ask for the hem patti runs to be laid out before cutting, as three separate 5.30 metre sections are easy to misallocate.

Which Occasion Afsun Suits

White with silver is a nikah colour above all, and a strong choice for a walima or an engagement where the palette is pale. It works in daylight and under cool indoor lighting. It is a specific look - a full sharara in white is not an everyday formal - so it suits a function you want to dress properly for. For something equally pale but less structured, Hikayat in off white organza is the alternative.

Care and Storage

• Dry clean only - white poly net marks easily and does not recover from home washing.
• Do not bleach, do not wring, and dry in shade. Sunlight yellows white over time.
• Store in a cotton cover away from light - avoid plastic, which can yellow white fabric.
