The Jugnu Karandi AW26 collection brings ten unstitched winter suits from Jugnu, the Lahore label known for traditional embroidery and rich, wearable colour. Every design pairs an embroidered karandi shirt with a karandi trouser and either a chiffon dupatta or a matching karandi shawl, so each suit arrives as a complete 3-piece winter outfit. All designs are sourced and verified as original before listing. For a design-by-design walkthrough, read our guide to all 10 Jugnu Karandi AW26 designs.
Why Karandi for Winter
Karandi is a textured, medium-weight fabric that is warmer than lawn or cambric but still breathable, which makes it ideal for Indian winters from October to February. It holds its shape well, has a soft matte surface that shows embroidery clearly, and is comfortable from morning functions to late dinners. If you are building a winter wardrobe of Pakistani suits, karandi is one of the most practical fabrics to start with.
The Colour Story
The ten designs cover a deep, seasonal palette: sapphire blue Nehri, ivory and black Nigah, dark pumpkin Tazetta, forest green Jita, zinc grey Baagh, French roast brown Jabah, olive green Zinia, tea pink Dahlia, black Cyprus and maroon Parul. Colours are described as they appear in the product images, so allow for slight variation between screens.
Chiffon Dupatta or Karandi Shawl?
Designs with a chiffon dupatta
Nehri, Jita, Baagh, Zinia and Parul come with chiffon dupattas. Chiffon is light and sheer, so it balances the heavier karandi shirt and is easy to carry through a long function.
Designs with a karandi shawl
Nigah, Tazetta, Jabah, Dahlia and Cyprus come with karandi shawls. A shawl in the same warm fabric doubles as a wrap on cold evenings and gives the outfit a coordinated, classic winter look.
Embroidery Styles
Most of the collection uses multicoloured traditional or floral embroidery: Nehri, Jita, Baagh, Dahlia, Cyprus and Parul are the most colourful and festive. Nigah, Tazetta, Jabah and Zinia use tonal, monochrome embroidery for a quieter, more refined look that works well for office events and dinners.
Designs by Occasion
For mehndi, sangeet and festive evenings, the brightest designs, Jita, Parul and Nehri, stand out. For winter weddings where you are a guest, Cyprus, Dahlia and Nigah are polished choices. For daytime functions, Diwali and Eid visits and family gatherings, Tazetta, Baagh, Jabah and Zinia are easy to style and comfortable to wear for hours.
Short or Long Shirts
Jabah and Zinia are styled by the brand as short shirts, while the other eight are styled as long shirts. Because every suit is unstitched, you and your tailor decide the final length and cut, using the embroidered panels and borders as a guide.
Styling Karandi Suits in Winter
Karandi suits are easy to layer. On colder days, pair a long shirt with a fitted inner, a long cardigan or a tailored coat in a neutral tone, and let the embroidered sleeves and hem show. Closed khussas, block heels or ankle boots work with straight trousers and culottes alike. For festive evenings, add jhumkas or statement earrings and a small embellished clutch, and drape the dupatta or shawl over one shoulder so the embroidered pallu is on display. Deeper shades like black, maroon, forest green and sapphire blue look rich under warm evening lighting, while ivory, tea pink and zinc grey feel fresh for daytime events.
Stitching and Care
Share the product photos with your tailor before cutting, and plan where each embroidered panel, border and pallu will sit. Dry clean is recommended for embroidered karandi. If you hand wash, use cold water and a mild detergent, wash the dupatta or shawl separately, and iron on the reverse side.
Unstitched, Original and Limited
