On this design the shirt front and back are dyed raw silk, with the embroidered, sequinned work on the sleeves. The detail is carried instead by the trims: an embroidered sequinned front neckline, a front and back border, a sleeves border, a sleeves lace and a side slit lace, finished with hand-embellished neckline tassels and crochet lace at the neckline.

The trouser is where Vivienne Rose stands alone. It is the only design in the collection with an embroidered, sequinned raw silk trouser rather than a plain dyed one, and it comes with its own trouser border, a combined sleeves and trouser border, and a side slit and trouser lace. Every other design in the line pairs its shirt with a plain dyed trouser.

That changes how the outfit reads once stitched. Rather than concentrating the work on the shirt, the embellishment runs down the full length of the silhouette — an unusually balanced look, and a quieter one than the fully worked shirts such as Royal Affair or Reina Rouge. It is a good choice if you want detail without a heavily embroidered chest.

White raw silk has a slight natural warmth and slub that separates it from a flat white cotton or georgette, so the dyed panels read as fabric-rich rather than plain, and avoid the washed-out effect a smoother white can have under camera flash.
