About the Elaf Premium Evara FEZ Wedding Suit

The Elaf Premium Evara FEZ is one of the opening designs of Elaf's Evara Chapter 1 wedding line, and it is built almost entirely around one fabric: organza. Every embroidered component of the shirt, the dupatta and the trouser border is worked on organza, with only the inner and trouser fabric switching to solid dyed raw silk. That single-fabric discipline is what gives the suit its particular look on the body — light, slightly structured, and translucent enough that the embroidery appears to float rather than sit flat.

Why Organza Behaves Differently

Organza is a sheer, crisp fabric with far more body than chiffon or net. It holds a shape instead of clinging, which is why designers reach for it when a wedding shirt needs volume without weight. On FEZ this matters in two places. The hand-embellished front and back panels keep their line through a long function instead of collapsing, and the 2.5 metre organza dupatta drapes with a soft stand rather than flattening against the shoulder. Because organza is sheer by nature, the suit is supplied with 4.5 metres of solid dyed raw silk for the inner and trouser — enough to line the shirt properly and still cut a full trouser.

Reading the Design Breakdown

The panelled construction is worth understanding before you hand the fabric to a tailor. Rather than a single embroidered shirt length, FEZ arrives as separate yokes, left and right front panels, left and right back panels, and a sleeve pair. This is how formal Pakistani wedding shirts are engineered: each piece carries embroidery placed for its exact position on the garment, so the motifs meet correctly at the seams. Hand embellishment appears on the front yoke, both front panels and the sleeves — the areas closest to the face and hands, where detail reads most clearly in photographs and under evening light.

The borders are generous. Five metres of embroidered daman border covers both the front and back hem, 6.4 metres of pallu border finishes the dupatta, and a further 2.5 metres is allocated to the trouser. A tailor working with this much border length has room to run a continuous daman on a longer kameez, or to split it between hem and sleeve openings if you prefer a shorter silhouette.

Where to Wear It

FEZ sits in the wedding-guest and close-family register rather than bridal. It works for a nikah, a mehndi where you want embroidery instead of mirror work, a walima reception, or a large engagement. Paired with a straight trouser it stays modern; cut as a longer kameez with a gharara or sharara it moves toward a heavier traditional look. Keep jewellery restrained — organza and hand embellishment already occupy the eye, so a single statement piece usually reads better than a full set.

Stitching and Tailoring Notes

This suit is sold unstitched, as all Aangan pieces are, so the fit is entirely yours to decide. Ask your tailor to line the organza shirt fully using the raw silk rather than a thin cotton lining — raw silk gives the sheer fabric the weight it needs to hang correctly. Organza also frays at cut edges, so French seams or bound edges will hold up far better than a plain overlock. Lining, laces and tassels are not included in the unstitched pack, so budget for those separately if your design calls for them.

Unstitched. FEZ is supplied as separate fabric pieces — yokes, panels, sleeves, borders, dupatta, and inner and trouser fabric — for you to stitch to your own measurements. Aangan sells unstitched fabric only and does not offer a stitching service.

What fabric is used?

Does the dupatta come embroidered?

Yes. The dupatta is 2.5 metres of embroidered organza, supplied with a separate 6.4 metre embroidered pallu border to be attached during stitching.

Are lining and laces included?

No. Lining, laces and tassels are not included in unstitched variants. The raw silk inner fabric can be used to line the organza shirt, which we recommend given the fabric is sheer.

How should I care for organza?

Dry clean only. Iron at moderate temperature, avoid bleach and stain-removing chemicals, and do not leave damp fabric in direct sunlight.
