Qalamkar Qline Linen '26: A Guide to All 16 Designs
Share
Qalamkar's Qline Linen '26 is the brand's autumn–winter linen line, and it has arrived on Aangan as sixteen unstitched designs. Every shirt is embroidered slub linen, and every design comes with a plain linen trouser. What changes from one design to the next is the colour, the embroidery layout and the wrap: some come with a winter shawl, others with a chiffon dupatta. This guide walks through the full Qalamkar Qline Linen '26 collection so you can pick the right design for your winter wardrobe before you brief your tailor.
Why slub linen works for Indian winters
Slub linen has a gently uneven weave, with small thicker threads running through the fabric. That texture gives it a soft matte finish and visible character, so even the plain back and trouser do not look flat. It is heavier and warmer than summer lawn, but it still breathes, which makes it practical for Indian winters from October to February, when days can be mild and evenings cold. Linen also holds its shape better than lawn, so straight kameez, A-line cuts and structured sleeves all stitch up cleanly.
Every design in the line is sold unstitched. The fabric arrives as cut pieces for your own tailor, and Aangan does not offer a stitching service. Each design is limited to three pieces, and a restock is not guaranteed.
Shawl or chiffon dupatta?
The first decision is the wrap, because it decides how warm the outfit will be and how dressy it feels.
Linen shawl sets
Five designs pair the suit with a linen shawl: Hamna, Farwa, Seran, Roma and Shaheen. A linen shawl matches the weight of the shirt and trouser, so the three pieces feel like one coordinated winter set. This is the most balanced option for daytime wear, office days and family visits.
Karandi shawl sets
Six designs come with a karandi shawl: Yani, Taliya, Maheen, Nyra, Aleena and Amarah. Karandi is a dense, slightly coarse woven fabric that is warmer than linen, which makes these the best choice for colder cities and outdoor winter evenings. Several of these designs use a contrast shawl, such as Yani's black suit with a magenta shawl and Amarah's lime green suit with a black shawl, so the shawl becomes a focal point rather than an afterthought.
Chiffon dupatta sets
Five designs swap the shawl for an embroidered or laced chiffon dupatta: Gina, Daniya, Neirah, Zaira and Zeemal. Chiffon keeps the look lighter and dressier. These suit heated indoor events, dinners and dawaats, and milder winter days when a full shawl would be too warm.
The designs, colour by colour
Neutrals and soft tones
Hamna is cream with a maroon shawl. Its front borders combine fabric and organza embroidery, and it includes embroidered 3D flowers, which makes it one of the more detailed designs in the line. Gina is grey with a navy chiffon dupatta, with a fully worked front and an embroidered trouser lace. It is the most understated choice for workwear and daytime events. Daniya in dusty rose pink is the lightest in feel, with embroidered left and right panels, 3D flowers and a laced chiffon dupatta.
Jewel tones
The line leans into rich winter colours. Farwa is plum, with embroidered side panel laces. Maheen is deep purple, with organza sleeve laces and patches, 3D flowers and a karandi shawl. Seran in navy blue has one of the most elaborate shawls in the line, a plain linen shawl finished with organza laces on all four sides and an embroidered pallu, plus an embroidered trouser motif and lace. Roma is emerald green, with embroidered front and back daman, a back neckline lace and a trouser lace.
Deep reds and maroons
Neirah is maroon, with daman and side laces on both front and back, an embroidered back neckline, a four-sided dupatta lace and trouser motifs. Zaira is red, with organza and fabric sleeve borders and 3D flowers on the sleeves, paired with an embroidered chiffon dupatta. These two are the most festive designs in the line and work well for winter weddings as a guest.
Contrast colour sets
For a bolder look, choose a contrast pairing. Yani is black with a magenta shawl and an embroidered back motif. Taliya is mint with a navy shawl. Nyra is mustard yellow with a pink karandi shawl finished with laces and motifs. Amarah is lime green with a black shawl and embroidered 3D flowers. Aleena in berry pink sits between the two groups, bright but not a contrast set.
Brown and violet
Shaheen is chocolate brown with a matching linen shawl, with daman and side laces on the front and back and an embroidered back neckline. It is the most earthy, understated design in the line. Zeemal is violet, with three embroidered front panels, an embroidered neckline and front border, and a chiffon dupatta with embroidered pallu motifs and lace, a bold jewel tone for festive evenings.
Choosing by occasion
For office days and daytime family visits, choose a linen shawl set or Gina. For cold evenings and outdoor functions, a karandi shawl design such as Maheen, Yani or Taliya will keep you warmer. For winter weddings, dawaats and festive dinners, the chiffon dupatta designs, especially Neirah and Zaira, feel dressier. If you want one design that moves easily between occasions, Hamna in cream is the most versatile.
Briefing your tailor
Share the product photos with your tailor before any fabric is cut. Most designs arrive with separately embroidered centre, left and right panels, plus laces for the sleeves, daman or trouser. Ask your tailor to plan where each piece will sit so none of the worked areas are trimmed. Linen can shrink slightly, so a quick steam or pre-wash of the plain trouser fabric is worth doing, but do not soak the embroidered shirt pieces.
Caring for linen suits
Dry clean the embroidered shirt, shawl and dupatta for best results. If you wash the plain trouser at home, use cold water and a mild detergent and dry it in the shade. Iron linen on a medium setting while slightly damp, press embroidered areas from the reverse side, and store the pieces folded in a cotton bag.
